MARY PIERCE studied illustration at Camberwell School of Art and later did an MA in Textile Design at Central St. Martins. She likes to paint gardens, plants and urban landscapes, and is inspired by how nature dominates the urban environment and transforms it. She loves the fusion of the natural world with the man-made.
Her favourite medium is watercolour, and she doesn’t like to paint from photographs, preferring to pain ‘en plein air’ or outdoors, sitting well wrapped up on her painting stool.
